Dream Home: Converted Warehouse
I have a dream to live in a converted warehouse, or former church or anything with lots of height and width with open spaces, observation deck and/or mezzanine and/or loft – like a dome!
It doesn’t have to be huge but it does have to be flexible, practical and have an ambiance - nothing sterile.
Something like the home with the awesome library in the movie Highlander. (I’ll have to track down a photo of the room now that I think of it.)
Converted Warehouse = Dream Home
A converted warehouse is ideal and many property developers are catching on to this desire held by many.
I came across Joseph Messteri’s personal blog on 4 September 2009. Created in January 2009 it had two posts – one a welcome and the other My Dream Home. When my husband and I started blogging in September 2006 we also started off with a post about our dream home.
Joseph writes:
“I have always had a dream of a home built inside of a studio warehouse. I saw a television show that seems to be from a guy who has a similar vision. This is very close to my vision of a perfect and peaceful place to live.”
Not sure what television show he speaks of, but the following two photos are part of his collection. Visit his blog to see the others.
- Imagine doing your morning/evening exercises on a wooden platform over your own water and rock pool.
- Imagine sitting in your reading/study area (upstairs, right side) listening to piped music.
- Imagine entertaining, studying, meditating or talking to friends and loved ones (or clients) in your open plan round room with low profile furniture and big open spaces.
I love the idea of converted warehouses and these images very closely match my desires.
