Find Peace, Find Gratefulness – A Good Day
Brother David’s words of wisdom can be found at Gratefulness.org
What is a Retreat?
Br. David opened my mind in one of his brief videos about what a retreat actually is.
- Retreats are not about ‘retreating’ like on a battlefield but rather taking a step back to get a better view of life.
- Stepping back without analyzing lets you include more into what you see and feel, your field of vision and your scope of understanding.
- A retreat is not about forgetting other people and issues but rather about taking the time to recognise and include them in your life.
- Spiritual practice is about seeking out issues and coming alive on many levels – in your body, mind and spirit.
- A retreat provides the solitude to get reconnected – not to escape – and to be one with the Universe.
- Find peace and you find gratefulness.
A Network for Grateful Living (ANG*L)
Grateful.org is hom eto ANG*L – dedicated to providing education and support for the practice of grateful living as a global ethic, based on the teachings of Br. David Steindl-Rast and colleagues.
Gratefulness is a universal principle that serves as the core inspiration for personal growth, cross-cultural understanding, interfaith dialogue, intergenerational respect, nonviolent conflict resolution, and ecological sustainability.
